Just Add Ink #698 | Just Choose Two Challenge

I'm here today to bring you my card for the NEW challenge we have over at Just Add Ink Challenges - Just Add Ink #698 - Just Choose Two Challenge.

Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing from Leaves, Flowers and Pots. I chose leaves and flowers for my 'Just Choose Two' but that was pretty much a given as I'm a sucker for a pretty flower stamp set and card.

I've used lots of layers, embossing, die cutting, ribbon & trim, and the Stampin' Up! Online Exclusive bundle Simply Zinnia for a pretty floral card using Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. I've not used my Stampin' Blends for a while now so it was good to get them out and get my colouring on.

I've used Basic White and one of the new In Colors - Pretty in Pink, for my cardstock layers and then to colour in the Zinnia flowers I used the Blends - Melon Mambo Dark & Light, Pretty in Pink Dark, Pumpkin Pie Light, and Lemon Lolly Dark to colour in the flowers. I used Granny Apple Green Dark & Light to colour the leaves. I'm loving this pink on pink colour combo. I love the gorgeous contrast between the dark and light pink shades. Super pretty!

I finished the card off with a layering of ribbon and trim and added a few Irridescent Pearls to add to that pretty look.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Funky Folds Blog Hop #2

Hello stamping friends. Welcome to the Funky Folds Blog Hop.

We are a new group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds (fun folds). Funky actually means "modern and stylish in and unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not you usual rectangle/square portait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or '3D' cards. The list is endless.

All Funky Folds Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of  'funky' card fold. Here today I've made a Pop Up Box Card featuring products from the new Stampin' Up! Unbounded Beauty Suite, that will be coming out in the new 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Catalogue that customers can purchase from on 1st May, 2024.

This is a fantastic card to use up all that DSP that we all have in our stashes. Here I've used the Unbounded Beauty 12" x 12" DSP. This DSP has all the bright and beautiful new In Colors and is so stunning! You start with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of DSP and once you make all the score lines and folds you have a box that you can fold flat (perfect for posting).

Once the belly band is taken off, gently pull the flaps to either side and the box opens up. You are able to add a piece of cardstock inside the box for you to be able to write your message. You could probably fit a gift card of some sort in there too. Or if you want you can also decorate the inside and have your message panel on the back of the box.

Here I've got the message piece embellished with the same DSP as the outside of the box for a coordinated look. I've left it loose to take out but you could adehere the message panel in with adhesive if you prefered.

When the box is unfolded this is how big it is when it is opened up, and then it folds completely flat when all folded up.

The belly band is made with Summer Splash cardstock and Summer Splash Ribbon. I've die cut a circle using the Stylish Shapes dies and added some ink blending on it using the new Pretty In Pink Ink. The layered die cuts, stamped images and sentiment come from the Flowers in Beauty Bundle and the Unbounded Love Bundle, both from the Unbounded Beauty Suite. I can't love this suite enough! It is that stunning!

If you are wanting to make the Box card, check out the tutorial HERE.

Up next is Lou Kitzelman from Australia. I can't wait to see what she has made for our Funky Folds Blog Hop.

If you love to make cards with creative folds and would like to join in with our monthly Funky Folds Blog Hop, you are welcome to head on over to our community group on Facebook HERE to be part of the fun.

Just Add Ink #696 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous inspiration picture challenge - Just Add Ink #696 | Inspiration Picture Challenge.

What a beautiful inspiration picture!!! Wouldn't a piece of that cake be delicious? While at a quick glance at the inspiration picture you would think that all you would get out of the picture is some cake inspiration but actually there's the colours, the fruit, the flowers. Lots to get you inspired.

The colours  and the flowers were what caught my eye and that is the focus of my card for today for the Just Add Ink Design Team.

I've used the Enduring Beauty stamp set for a bold birthday card. I've stamped the image on Water colour paper and coloured the image in using Water Painters. I know there are coordinating masks that go with this stamp set, and they do make colouring this image in so much quicker, but I wanted to try and colour it with the Water Painters for a different look.

I used Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock for my colours. I don't normally use Pretty Peacock to colour leaves but the colour goes so well with Gorgeous Grape that I thought I should use it. Makes for a beautiful colour combination!

I used the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder to add to the floral look and then finished the card off with some Linen Thread, Black & Vanilla Large Check Ribbon and the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems. the embossed sentiment comes from one of the new stamp sets from the New 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, Unbounded Beauty.

Go and check out the design teams take on this week's Inspiration Picture at the Just Add Ink Blog and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

Just Add Ink #694 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #694 | Colour Challenge.

This week we have a fun colour combo for you using Fresh Freesia, Pretty Peacock and Cajun Craze. We just happen to be using my least favourite Stampin' Up! Colour - Cajun Craze. I know we've all got a colour that we strongly dislike, well mine is Cajun Craze. What is yours? I think I'm still on my first pack of Cajun Craze cardstock and I've been a Stampin' Up! demo for over 10 years!

I've made a Fun Fold card for you today that I saw on fellow JAI DT Member Di Barnes blog and also Linda Dalke's Instagram a long time ago and have been wating to make it for ages.

I'm not sure what this Fun Fold is actually called but I'm going to call it the Wing Fold as you'll see in my other photos why I've called it that.

I've used a Basic White base for the card and then layered Fresh Freesia cardstock and the DSP from the Perennial Lavender DSP. Over the DSP I flicked the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write marker for some inky splatters and then using a Blending Brush added a little Pretty Peacock Ink around the DSP edges for a little layered depth. It's hard to see the blended ink edges here in the photo but I assure you I did do it.

I've decorated the front with some layered circles, using Vellum, Fresh Freesia and Basic White. Two of the circle die cuts come from the New Spotlight on Nature Bundle from the new 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue that SU demonstrators can pre order from on 2nd April 2024 and SU customers can purchase from 1st May 2024. It's an amazing catalogue with lots of amazing products! I love it!

I've then used products from the Perennial Lavender Suite to finish layering and embellishing my 'Wing' Fun Fold card.

Once the 'wings' unfold open then there is a panel inside where you can write your message, or if you want you can decorate this panel as well and then use the panel on the back to write your message.

Here on the inside I've used the same DSP and cardstock for some more layering and then added some stamping and some Baker's Twine.

I do hope that you like my take on this week's challenge colours. I actually liked the addition of Cajun Craze in this colour combo but you probably won't see me use it much more than this. It's still not my favourite. Ha!

Go and check out the design teams take on this week's colours at the Just Add Ink Blog for some inspiration and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

Stampin' Up! On Stage Melbourne 2024 Swaps

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome, welcome! It's so good to have you here. Today I've got for you my swaps that I've made for the Stampin' Up! On Stage (demonstrator only) event happening this weekend. I'm attening On Stage in Melbourne, Australia but the event is also being held in Houston in the U.S., and Rotterdam in the Netherlands at the same time.

The last time I went to an in person (not Virtual) On Stage event was before the world turned upside down with the arrival of the Covid virus. So would would have been 2019 that was my last in person event.

To say I'm excited to be going is an understatement! Not only for the event, which will be amazing, but also to catch up with old and new friends, to see new Stampin' Up products, creating with new products, getting a prize patrol or two. Two and a half days of fun with like minded, crafty people. Who wouldn't like that?

Swaps can be little 3D gift packaging items or a card that you make multiple of to be 'swapped' with other event attendees. This is a fantastic way to meet people attending the event and to also get inspiration from fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.

I've made some Mini 3" x 3" 'Pizza' Boxes that are little enough to be a swap but  big enough to hold a little treat or two. I've used the Perennial Lavender Suite from the 2024 Jan - April Mini Catalogue to create my Pizza Boxes. I'm really loving anything light purple at the moment so the colours in the DSP from this Suite caught my eye as soon as I saw them in the catalogue! So pretty with all the purples and then the other colours like Pretty Peacock and Crumb Cake. What's not to love really?

Because these are a little bit more intricate than a card swap so I've only made 10 of each design, one with a Basic White Box and the other with a Pretty Peacock Box. With all of the laying and detail it would take me way too long to make any more than that.

Slide the belly band off and the boxes are just plain inside. The boxes are big enough to hold 2 - 3 Cadbury Favourites chocolates but you can fill them with whatever you want. You could even use them as a gift box for jewellery. The best things come in the smallest packages, right?

Which Mini Pizza Box is your favourite? I think I'm leaning towards the Pretty Peacock box as my favourite but I do love them both. It's hard to pick a favourite.

To see all the products used check out the supply list below.

Stampin' Fancy Friday | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome, welcome! It's so good to have you here. I have a project for you for the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team. This month is a sketch challenge and if you've been around here for a while you would know that I love a sketch challenge!

This sketch is basic in its design and layout, but enough in the design to get those creative ideas going and that creative brain working. The perfect starting point for any card.

Today I've used the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack and the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes on this card. I love the colours in this card pack and envelopes. So bold and striking! The colours in these products are stunning and when combining the Memories & More products with a sketch it really takes the hard work out of creating and you end up with a beautiful creation.

What is fabulous about this card, not only the amazing colours, but that there is no stamping or die cutting! Nearly all the elements used on my card come from the Sweet Thoughts Memories and More Card Pack and Envelopes. This makes putting a card together like this so quick and easy.

I don't normally put this many patterns together but after trying different cards and stickers from the card pack I felt these worked so well together. I think the addition of the white layers really helped balance out the busy-ness of the coloured layers.I finished off the card with some Pretty Peacock Splatters, Iridescent Pearls and some Linen Thread. Simple embellishments that go well with everything else on the card.

I really love that with the one sketch you can create lots of different looks. Check out the rest of the sketch creations and all the different looks that the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team has made on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram Account or on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Facebook page. This is where all their creations will be shared throughout the month, so make sure that you are following them to get all of the amazing ideas!

Just Add Ink #690 | Just Add A Fancy Fold

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous fun challenge - Just Add Ink #690 | Just Add A Fancy Fold

I do love to create a card with a fancy fold but I often forget to make them. If you want to check out some of the fancy fold cards that I've made in the past check out my Pinterest Board HERE.This might also give you some inspiration for our Fancy Fold Challenge this week.

For today I've made a fancy fold card that I've not seen before, a mirror fold card. I've only recently found it when I was reasearching on what to make for this challenge.

While the card and the fancy fold looks fairly inconspicuous when it's closed with the belly band around it. The reasoning as to why it's called a Mirror Fold card doesn't really come to light until you unfold it.

Here I've used panels embossed with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder, which looks beautiful, but you could also use panels of your favourite DSP for an equally stunning look. The centre panel is perfect to write your message. Need additional room to write your message? You can add another panel of Basic White to the back side of the central rhombus section.

Here I've created the belly band with Crumb Cake cardstock and layered it with some Coastal Cabana Carstock and some Vellum Basics Specialty Designer Series Paper and some dies and sentiment from the Sending Smiles Stamp and Die Set. I love the boldness of the Basic Black against the Vellum and Coastal Cabana. It's very striking!

I really hope that I've given you some inspiration for our Fancy Fold Challenge. Go and check out the design teams take on this week's Fancy Fold Challenge at the Just Add Ink Blog and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.
